THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2017 on the European Union trade markOJ L 154, 16.6.2017, p. 1 . , and in particular Article 166(1) and (3) thereof,

Ms Nina Maria KORJUS, born in Joensuu (Finland) on 30 June 1971 , is hereby appointed chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a term of five years.

The date on which the five-year term referred to in paragraph 1 commences shall be determined by the Management Board of the EUIPO.

(1) On 4 June 2021 , the Management Board of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) submitted a list of candidates for the post of chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the EUIPO to the Council.

(2) On 1 June 2021 , the Management Board of the EUIPO decided to propose to the Council the extension of the term of office of Mr Sven STÜRMANN as chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the EUIPO for an additional period of five years from 1 August 2022 ,

The term of office of Mr Sven STÜRMANN as chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the EUIPO is hereby extended for a five-year period starting on 1 August 2022 and ending on 31 July 2027 .

Article 1 Article 1 1.Ms Nina Maria KORJUS, born in Joensuu (Finland) on 30 June 1971 , is hereby appointed chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a term of five years. 2.The date on which the five-year term referred to in paragraph 1 commences shall be determined by the Management Board of the EUIPO.
