THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 is amended as follows:

The measures referred to in Article 3(3) and (4), insofar as they apply to the Allied Democratic Forces, shall be suspended for as long as the measures laid down in Article 5(1) and (2) of Council Decision 2010/788/CFSPCouncil Decision 2010/788/CFSP of 20 December 2010 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (OJ L 336, 21.12.2010, p. 30 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2010/788/oj).; apply to that entity.

Council Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 of 20 September 2016 concerning restrictive measures against ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda and persons, groups, undertakings and entities associated with them and repealing Common Position 2002/402/CFSP (OJ L 255, 21.9.2016, p. 25 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2016/1693/oj).

(1) On 20 September 2016 , the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693Council Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 of 20 September 2016 concerning restrictive measures against ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda and persons, groups, undertakings and entities associated with them and repealing Common Position 2002/402/CFSP (OJ L 255, 21.9.2016, p. 25 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2016/1693/oj). .

(2) In view of the continued threat posed by ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaeda and persons, groups, undertakings and entities associated with them, one entity should be added to the list of persons, groups, undertakings and entities set out in the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693.

(3) Considering that the entity to be added is already subject to measures set out in Council Decision 2010/788/CFSPCouncil Decision 2010/788/CFSP of 20 December 2010 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (OJ L 336, 21.12.2010, p. 30 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2010/788/oj). , the relevant restrictive measures under Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 should be suspended for that entity for as long as the measures provided for in Decision 2010/788/CFSP apply to it.

(4) Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 should therefore be amended accordingly,

(1) in Article 6, the following paragraph is added:7.The measures referred to in Article 3(3) and (4), insofar as they apply to the Allied Democratic Forces, shall be suspended for as long as the measures laid down in Article 5(1) and (2) of Council Decision 2010/788/CFSPCouncil Decision 2010/788/CFSP of 20 December 2010 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (OJ L 336, 21.12.2010, p. 30 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2010/788/oj).; apply to that entity.

(2) the Annex to Decision (CFSP) 2016/1693 is amended in accordance with the Annex to this Decision.

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
