THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2019/1753 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the action of the Union following its accession to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical IndicationsOJ L 271, 24.10.2019, p. 1 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2019/1753/oj. , and in particular Article 2(3) thereof,

A list of protected designations of origin (PDOs), protected geographical indications (PGIs) and geographical indications (GIs) within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143, protected under Union law, for which the Commission shall file applications for their international registrationis established in the Annex to this Decision.

(1) In accordance with Article 2(2) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1753, in November 2025 and January 2026, certain Member States requested the Commission to register in the International Register 22 protected designations of origin (PDOs), protected geographical indications (PGIs) and geographical indications (GIs) within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the CouncilRegulation (EU) 2024/1143 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024 on geographical indications for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products, as well as traditional specialities guaranteed and optional quality terms for agricultural products, amending Regulations (EU) No 1308/2013, (EU) 2019/787 and (EU) 2019/1753 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 (OJ L, 2024/1143, 23.4.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1143/oj). that originate in their territory and that are protected under Union law.

(2) Based on the respective requests of those Member States, the Commission should therefore establish a list for those PDOs, PGIs and GIs requested.

(3) After the list is established, the Commission should file applications for international registration as appellations of origin in respect of names protected in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 as PDOs for wine and for agricultural products, and applications for international registration as geographical indications in respect of names protected in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/1143 as PGIs for wine and for agricultural products or as GIs for spirit drinks.

(4) The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Quality Policy Committee for agricultural products, wine and spirit drinks,
