Rozhodnutí Komise ze dne 15. dubna 2026, o schválení změn části A přílohy I a přílohy II Dohody mezi Evropskou unií a Islandem o ochraně zeměpisných označení zemědělských produktů a potravin jménem Evropské unie

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Council Decision (EU) 2017/1912 of 9 October 2017 on the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indication for agricultural products and foodstuffsOJ L 274, 24.10.2017, p. 1 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2017/1912/oj. , and in particular Article 3, second paragraph thereof,

The amendments to Part A of Annex I and to Annex II to the Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indications for agricultural products and foodstuffs as set out in the draft Decision of the Joint Committee, are hereby approved on behalf of the Union.

The draft Decision of the Joint Committee is set out in the Annex to this Decision.

(1) The Agreement between the European Union and Iceland on the protection of geographical indications for agricultural products and foodstuffsOJ L 274, 24.10.2017, p. 3 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/agree_internation/2017/1912/oj. (the Agreement) entered into force on 1 May 2018 .

(2) Article 10(1) of the Agreement establishes a Joint Committee that is to see the proper functioning of the Agreement and is responsible for, among others, amending Part A of Annex I as regards the references to the law applicable on the Parties' territories and amending the list of geographical indications set out in Annex II to the Agreement.

(3) The Joint Committee examined the proposed revised list of applicable legislation in the Union territory set out in Part A of Annex I to the Agreement.

(4) The Joint Committee also examined the list of newly registered geographical indications proposed for inclusion in Annex II to the Agreement, as well as proposed corrections and removals of names that are currently listed in that Annex but are no longer protected in the Parties.

(5) The Parties completed their examination and the internal procedures necessary for adoption of the Decision by the Joint Committee under the Agreement.

(6) Part A of Annex I, and Annex II, to the Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly and the amendments should be approved on behalf of the Union,

The representative of the Union in the Joint Committee is authorised to approve the adoption of the Decision of that Joint Committee on behalf of the Union.

This Decision shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Union .

The Decision of the Joint Committee shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Union after its adoption by the Joint Committee.
