THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Decision No 234/2008/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 11 March 2008 establishing the European Statistical Advisory Committee and repealing Council Decision 91/116/EECOJ L 73, 15.3.2008, p. 13 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2008/234(1)/oj. , and in particular Article 4(1)(b)(ii) thereof,

Having regard to the Recommendation of the Economic and Financial Committee of 20 March 2026 ,

Mr Robert KIRCHNER is hereby appointed as the member representing the Council in the European Statistical Advisory Committee until 10 February 2029 .

(1) By its Decision of 29 January 2024 Council Decision of 29 January 2024 on the appointment of the member of the European Statistical Advisory Committee representing the Council (OJ C, C/2024/1454, 8.2.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/C/2024/1454/oj). , the Council appointed Ms Ylva HEDÉN WESTERDAHL as the member representing the Council in the European Statistical Advisory Committee for a term of five years.

(2) The representative of the Council to the European Statistical Advisory Committee, Ms Ylva HEDÉN WESTERDAHL, resigned on 18 December 2025 .

(3) It is therefore necessary to appoint a new member representing the Council for the remainder of the term of office, ending on 10 February 2029 . This Decision should therefore enter into force as a matter of urgency,

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
