THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Decision No 235/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 establishing the European Statistical Governance Advisory BoardOJ L 73, 15.3.2008, p. 17 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2008/235/oj. , and in particular Article 3 thereof,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Commission,

Mr Juan Manuel RODRIGUEZ POO is hereby appointed as a member representing the Council in the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board for a second term of office of three years from 9 March 2026 .

(1) By its Decision of 2 March 2023 Council Decision of 2 March 2023 appointing a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (OJ C 82, 6.3.2023, p. 1 ). , the Council appointed Mr Juan Manuel RODRIGUEZ POO as a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (the Board) for a term of office of three years.

(2) The term of office of Mr RODRIGUEZ POO expired on 8 March 2026 .

(3) In accordance with Article 3(4) of Decision No 235/2008/EC, the term of office of a member of the Board can be renewed once.

(4) Mr RODRIGUEZ POO has expressed his willingness to serve for a renewed term of office.

(5) Article 3(2) of Decision No 235/2008/EC states that the members of the Board are to be selected from among experts possessing outstanding competence in the field of statistics.

(6) In order to ensure administrative continuity and to allow a seamless transition between the terms of office, the second term of office of three years should start as of 9 March 2026 . This Decision should therefore enter into force as a matter of urgency, and should apply from that date,

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
