THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Council Decision (EU) 2016/839 of 23 May 2016 on the conclusion, on behalf of the European Union, of the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other partOJ L 141, 28.5.2016, p. 28 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2016/839/oj. , and in particular Article 3, first sentence, thereof,

The amendments to Annexes XXX-A, XXX-C and XXX-D to the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the republic of Moldova, of the other part, are hereby approved on behalf of the Union.

The text of those amendments is based on the draft Decision of the Geographical Indications Sub-Committee (hereinafter the Sub-Committee) attached to this Decision.

(1) The Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on protection of geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffsCouncil Decision 2013/7/EU of 3 December 2012 on the conclusion of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on the protection of geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffs (OJ L 10, 15.1.2013, p. 1 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2013/7(1)/oj). entered into force on 1 April 2013 .

(2) That Agreement was subsequently incorporated into the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other partAssociation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other part (OJ L 260, 30.8.2014, p. 4 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/agree_internation/2014/492/oj). (hereinafter the Agreement), which entered into force on 1 July 2016 .

(3) Article 306 of the Agreement establishes the Geographical Indications Sub-Committee (hereinafter the Sub-Committee) to ensure the proper functioning of the sub-section on geographical indications of the Agreement and is responsible for, among others, amending the references to the applicable legislation in the Parties’ respective territories, listed in Part A and Part B of Annex XXX-A, and amending the lists of protected geographical indications set out in Annexes XXX-C and XXX-D to the Agreement.

(4) The Sub-Committee, convened on 12 November 2025 , updated the list of applicable legislation in their respective territories, set out in Annex XXX-A in light of developments in the applicable Union legislation. Part B of Annex XXX-A to the Agreement should therefore be updated accordingly.

(5) The Sub-Committee also examined amendments proposed to the list of geographical indications set out in Annexes XXX-C and XXX-D to the Agreement, which were last updated by Decision No 1/2018 of the Geographical Indications Sub-CommitteeDecision No 1/2018 of the Geographical Indications Sub-Committee of 24 August 2018 amending Annexes XXX-C and XXX-D to the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other part [2018/1948] (OJ L 318, 14.12.2018, p. 51 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2018/1948/oj). . The Parties to the Sub-Committee also proposed corrections and removals of names that are currently listed in these Annexes but are no longer protected in the Parties’ respective territories.

(6) Those Annexes should therefore be amended following the examination conducted by the Sub-Committee.

(7) Those modifications should be approved on behalf of the Union,

The Head of the Union delegation to the Sub-Committee is authorised to approve the Decision of that Sub-Committee on behalf of the Union.
