THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 28(1) and Article 41(2) thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

In Article 1 of Decision (CFSP) 2023/921, paragraph 4 is replaced by the following: 4.The duration of the assistance measure shall be 53 months from the date of conclusion of the first contract between the administrator for assistance measures, acting as authorising officer, and the entities referred to in Article 4(2) of this Decision in accordance with Article 32(2), point (a), of Decision (CFSP) 2021/509..

Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/921 of 4 May 2023 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova (OJ L 119, 5.5.2023, p. 173 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2023/921/oj).

(1) On 4 May 2023 , the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/921Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/921 of 4 May 2023 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova (OJ L 119, 5.5.2023, p. 173 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2023/921/oj). which established an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova.

(2) The delivery of certain equipment to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova has been delayed and will not be completed until after the end of the implementation period of Decision (CFSP) 2023/921. That period should therefore be extended by 17 months from 31 July 2026 to 31 December 2027 .

(3) Decision (CFSP) 2023/921 should therefore be amended accordingly,

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
