THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 28(1) and Article 41(2) thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

In Article 1 of Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015, paragraph 4 is replaced by the following: 4.The duration of the assistance measure shall be 51 months from the date of adoption of this Decision..

Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015 of 22 July 2024 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (OJ L, 2024/2015, 23.7.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2024/2015/oj).

(1) On 22 July 2024 , the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015Council Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015 of 22 July 2024 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (OJ L, 2024/2015, 23.7.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2024/2015/oj). , which established an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility to support the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

(2) The delivery of part of the equipment to the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania has been delayed and will not be completed until after the end of the implementation period of Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015. That period should therefore be extended by 15 months from 22 July 2027 to 22 October 2028 .

(3) Decision (CFSP) 2024/2015 should therefore be amended accordingly,

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
