Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal productsOJ L 167, 27.6.2012, p. 1 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2012/528/oj. , and in particular Article 49 thereof,

The Union authorisation for the single biocidal product Nordkalk CL 90-Q granted by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1482 to Nordkalk AS with the authorisation number EU-0029369-0000 is cancelled.

(1) On 29 May 2024 , Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1482Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1482 of 29 May 2024 granting a Union authorisation for the single biocidal product Nordkalk CL 90-Q in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (OJ L, 2024/1482, 30.5.2024, ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg_impl/2024/1482/oj). granted a Union authorisation with the authorisation number EU-0029369-0000 to the authorisation holder Nordkalk AS for the making available on the market and use of the same single biocidal product Nordkalk CL 90-Q in accordance with Article 44(5), first subparagraph, of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012.

(2) On 15 May 2025 , Nordkalk AS submitted a request to cancel that Union authorisation to the European Chemicals Agency (the Agency) in accordance with Article 49 of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012. The request was recorded under case number BC-MB105899-37 in the Register for Biocidal Products.

(3) On 28 May 2025 , Nordkalk AS submitted a reasoning for the request for cancellation, providing that it had decided to discontinue the production of Nordkalk CL 90-Q based on commercial considerations.

(4) On 3 June 2025 , the Agency forwarded the reasoned request to the Commission.

(5) It is therefore appropriate to cancel the Union authorisation for the single biocidal product Nordkalk CL 90-Q at the reasoned request of the authorisation holder and consequently to repeal Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1482.

(6) It is also appropriate to grant a period of grace for the making available on the market and the use of the existing stocks in accordance with Article 52 of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012,

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1482 is repealed.

The biocidal product Nordkalk CL 90-Q shall no longer be made available on the market from 12 August 2026 and existing stocks of such biocidal product shall no longer be used from 12 February 2027 .

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
