THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2017 on the European Union trade markOJ L 154, 16.6.2017, p. 1 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2017/1001/oj. , and in particular Article 166(1) and (3) thereof,

The term of office of Ms Nina KORJUS as chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office is hereby extended for a five-year period, starting on 1 January 2027 , or until retirement age if this age is reached during the new term of office.

(1) Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2017/1001, chairpersons of the Boards of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) are appointed by the Council for a term of office of five years. Their term of office can be further extended.

(2) Ms Nina KORJUS was appointed as chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the EUIPO by means of a Council Decision of 28 September 2021 Council Decision of 28 September 2021 appointing a chairperson of a Board of Appeal and extending the term of office of a chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (OJ C 393 I, 29.9.2021, p. 1 ). . Her term of office will come to an end on 31 December 2026 . By a letter of 18 November 2025 , the Management Board of the EUIPO communicated to the Council its report on the positive evaluation of the performance of Ms Nina KORJUS.

(3) The term of office of Ms Nina KORJUS as chairperson of a Board of Appeal of the EUIPO should be extended for an additional five-year period, starting on 1 January 2027 , or until retirement age if this age is reached during the new term of office,

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
