THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Decision No 235/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 establishing the European Statistical Governance Advisory BoardOJ L 73, 15.3.2008, p. 17 , ELI: http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec/2008/235/oj. , and in particular Article 3 thereof,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Commission,

Mr Joakim STYMNE is hereby appointed as a member representing the Council in the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board for a term of office of three years.

(1) By its Decision of 19 December 2019 Council Decision of 19 December 2019 appointing a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (OJ C 428, 20.12.2019, p. 5 ). , the Council appointed Mr Priit POTISEPP as a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (the Board) for a term of office of three years.

(2) By its Decision of 14 February 2023 Council Decision of 14 February 2023 appointing a member of the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board (OJ C 57, 16.2.2023, p. 2 ). , the Council renewed the term of office of Mr Priit POTISEPP. The second term of office expired on 22 December 2025 , and cannot be further renewed.

(3) It is therefore necessary to appoint a new member of the Board as a matter of urgency.

(4) Article 3(2) of Decision No 235/2008/EC states that the members of the Board are to be selected from among experts possessing outstanding competence in the field of statistics,

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
